A Calm Relaxing Bath

Caleb's first bath was something of a nightmare! He was inconsolable, and some would say incensed as we gave him a scrubdown. This second bath was a whole different story. He was calm, curious and adorable! It lasted for the better part of the bath, and it's looking like the evening is off to a great start...

Naptime again!!! This time Caleb nabbed his mom for some tummytime! 

Naptime!!! Caleb and his dad crashed earlier this morning... 

Caleb usually fusses when he's on the changing table...but not this time! Look closely, and that may be a smirk!!! 

After a midnight feeding, Caleb is one happy kid and drifts off to sleep! 

Routines

Caleb has started to hit on a routine, or so it seems. From about 12:00AM to 9:00Pm...he sleeps. And from 9:01PM to 11:59PM he is animated and alert. It's kind of wierd to see him like this, because he's pretty content to sleep the rest of the time. It's also the best part of our day (aside from the crying) because we get to see his eyes open and see him interact with our voices and our touch. Oh yeah, did I mention the crying? Unless he has something in his mouth to bite on, he's inconsolable and he sometimes uses his "berserker cry" to let us know it. But around midnight, after a feeding, he gets this look of utter contention...and sleeps for most of the rest of the night!

Caleb Steven Mason was born at 9:58PM on Sunday, January 16th, 2005. He arrived by emergency cesarean section, at just over five pounds. He's 19 1/2 inches tall, with the promise of being the starting point guard for the Syracuse Orange in 2023!!! This blog is an effort by his parents, Chris and Kim, to keep friends and family up to date on his and this young family's progress.
